CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)

Nationally Recognised TrainingThis qualification is recommended for people who enjoy the company of the elderly and have a caring and patient nature. It will prepare you for work in the aged care sector providing you the skills and knowledge required to work in a residential care facility or as a respite care worker in an individual’s homes or in a community organisation. You will learn how to follow care plans, provide personal care, manual handling techniques, assisting with daily living activities and many more aspects to providing care for our elderly.

People who enrol in this course must meet certain pre-requisites due to the nature of the work and because part of the training is delivered in the workplace.

Entry Requirements
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy, to a minimum of ACSF level 3
  • A current National Police Clearance
  • Drivers Licence with vehicle
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
  • Proof of vaccination and obtain a current flu vaccine
  • Access to a notebook or computer
  • Ability to attend practical work experience at 7am for 3 weeks
  • Proof of residency (passport, visa, birth certificate)

Selection process for this qualification

Where an employer has not nominated staff to undertake a traineeship in this qualification each individual will be interviewed by HealthLink Training to ensure that the student/s have the ability and desire to work in this industry and that the course meets their desired outcomes.  All students will be required to undertake an LLN test to determine ability in the ACSF core skills in learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy.  

You must complete 120 of work experience which allows you complete the necessary work tasks within the qualification to be assessed against. Healthlink training will organise all workplace arrangements on behalf of the student as close to their home as possible.  Your Trainer/ Assessor will visit the site to assess your competency against the required skills for this qualification.

Competency based training in 13 units to achieve this qualification:

  • 7 Core Units - Compulsory
  • 6 Electives - CHC Community Services Training Package
  • A requirement of 120 hours of  work experience must be completed within a residential aged care facility to complete this qualification

CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with disability

Mixed Delivery Mode

This program is delivered through a combination of;

  • Self-paced learning
  • Facilitated workshops
  • Practical skills development session and
  • Industry placement training and assessment

Facilitated workshops will include activities to simulate workplace requirements and circumstances and will be used to assess and monitor ongoing Client progress including:

  • Workshop participation
  • Group Work and Activities
  • Individual Work and Activities
  • Case Studies, Projects and Role Plays

Where Candidates are undertaking the Qualification as an existing worker, workplace examples, policies and procedures of the employing organisation will be utilised as available to support practical application of skills and knowledge by the Client.

This is determined by the training arrangement.
